Proposed Lineup vs Burnley

This is when team depth is important and why Jurgen Klopp strengthened his squad during the summer even if the players brought in are not always in the starting 11. In the next 15 days, Liverpool play 5 games, including a Champion's League Group Stage game and a Football League Cup game. Klopp needs to be able to field a strong team to earn points while still allowing players to get rested. Let's take a look at how he can accomplish this vs Burnley.

Goalkeeper: Simon Mignolet

No real surprise here, Mignolet moving back into the net in place of Karius. Klopp indicated he would rotate his keepers depending on the game and Mignolet appears to be the Reds "Premier League Keeper."

Defense: Robertson, Lovren, Matip, Alexander-Arnold

A couple of changes in the back with Andy Robertson giving Moreno a break at LB and Alexander-Arnold back in on the right side. Lovren and Matip remain in the middle. I could see Joe Gomez taking a center back position but expect that may come in the Football League Cup game.

Midfield: Oxlade-Chamberlain, James Milner, Gino Wijnaldum

Will Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain get his first start? I think this is the perfect time for him to do so. He only played a few minutes in the Champion's League match and in that short time earned the Reds a couple of corners. He needs more time to prove himself and I expect him to get a start in the next week. Wijnaldum remains, especially playing at home which is where he excels. Jordan Henderson would get a night off with James Milner taking his role.

Attack: Coutinho, Sturridge, Salah

Philippe Coutinho's first start of the season? I'm not sure it will happen but I think it should. Klopp may feel Coutinho is not fit enough to start, and he showed signs of proving his manager right in the match against Seville. But still, he needs game time and starting him gives him the most time he can get. I would start him and then have him come off when the first sub appears, the timing dependent upon how long Coutinho is able to go. Mo Salah remains in the lineup. He will need a rest at some point, and Klopp could give it to him here choosing perhaps Oxlade-Chamberlain instead. But I think with Mane out, Liverpool need the pace that Salah provides to pressure the defense. Roberto Firmino would get a rest after a strong, emotional game Wednesday with Daniel Sturridge getting the start.

My plan in this lineup would be to play Coutinho for as long as he shows he can go. Then, the first substitute would be a midfielder and I'd shift Oxlade-Chamberlain up to Coutinho's wing. Will Klopp make this many changes? Will this team be strong enough to earn 3 points at home? What changes would you make? Comment below and let us know!
