Liverpool's lineup is confirmed. As can be seen above, the lineup consists of Loris Karius in net with Moreno, Lovren, Matip, and Gomez playing in defense. Nothing changes at mid-field or up front, with Henderson, Can, and Wijnaldum at the midfield and Mane, Salah and Firmino up front.
Let's give a little breakdown and analysis of the lineup. Some may be surprised that Loris Karius gets the start over Mignolet, but Klopp has hinted at this for some time. Lovren is back in the mix replaced Klavan to noones surprise. Youngster Alexander-Arnold struggled vs Man City but some thought Klopp would throw him right back out there with a signal of confidence. Instead, Gomez gets the start which again is understandable.
No changes up front or in the mid-field That means Mo Salah is healthy which is great news. Salah was sent home yesterday with a sore throat which brought some concern to Anfield. Many were expecting to see a return of Philippe Coutinho to the starting 11 but again Klopp has hinted that Coutinho may not be ready for a full-game. I still expect to see his first appearance of the year tonight, just not as a starter.
There you have it, 3 changes from Saturdays lineup against City. What are your thoughts on Klopp's lineup and thinking? Do you agree? Who did you want to start that is missing? Is this squad ready for a victory? Let's tune in and find out!
