Social media was abuzz tonight with talk of Liverpool finally landing their man. That's right, the summer long flirtation with VVD may finally pay dividends! Virgil Van Dijk is exactly what Liverpool needs to compete for trophies and it seems like that may be reality.
Stories first began coming out of Scotland of all places. Why Scotland? Well prior to joining Southampton, Van Dijk played for Celtic. And, when he was sold Celtic had a clause providing up to 10% of a Southampton sale if VVD were subsequently sold in the first two seasons. So apparently someone close to Celtic leaked that Celtic will be collecting on the sale of Van Dijk.
Hopefully this will be confirmed on Tuesday. First Naby Keita and now perhaps Virgil Van Dijk.......plus the Reds are still working on bringing in Thomas Lemar. Yes, today was a very good Monday!
